Steven J. Shanahan, managing partner, has been practicing law for approximately 14 years. For approximately the past 10 years he was an attorney with one of Pennsylvania’s largest workers’ compensation defense firms and a Principal at that Firm before deciding to open Shanahan Law Offices, P.C. Mr. Shanahan continues to focus his practice on the defense of workers’ compensation cases.
Mr. Shanahan is the Managing Partner at Shanahan Law Offices and continues to focus his practice in the area of workers’ compensation. This includes the successful representation of numerous employers, including commercial retailers, trucking companies, health-care providers, retail and food industry distribution centers, and both small and large corporate entities. He has extensive trial experience and experience arguing before the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board.
Mr. Shanahan frequently lectures on workers’ compensation topics to insurance companies, third-party administrators, and employers. He counsels employers on risk management issues that assist them in handling and defending their workers’ compensation cases. He also provides consulting services for employers implementing a temporary alternative duty program.
Mr. Shanahan was selected for inclusion in the 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions of Philadelphia Magazine’s “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer – Rising Stars,” a listing which includes the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in the Commonwealth who are 40 years of age or younger or have been practicing for less than 10 years.
Speaking Engagements – Mr. Shanahan has provided instruction to new claims representatives in handling Pennsylvania workers’ compensation claims, and also to experienced claims representatives on the detailed provisions of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act.
